Hemp does the structural work — it's what holds a gi together under grip fighting and years of wear. Bamboo sits against skin, where breathability and moisture control matter most. Organic cotton fills in everywhere else, and it's GOTS certified: independently verified from field to finished garment, not just a claim on a swing tag.
The one exception, and why it's there.
Our grappling shorts are recycled polyester, made from post-consumer PET bottles. We're not going to pretend otherwise, and we're not going to bury it in the corner of a size chart.
Grappling shorts take a different kind of abuse than a gi: four-way stretch through deep hip movement, constant sweat, mat friction. Natural fiber doesn't hold up to that yet — not without failing early. So we put the compromise where it does the least harm: recycled polyester on the outer shell, and a full bamboo lining underneath, so the only fiber touching your skin is natural.
It's not a 100% natural-fiber product. We'd rather tell you that than let the word "recycled" do the work of implying it.
